How much does an average wedding cost?

Saving for your wedding day can be a mammoth task and can take many years to achieve!

Did you know the average cost of a wedding in Australia is $45,000 *2024. For some people having that dream day with everything you ever imagined just isn't possible. And the more people you invite the more cost and pressure gets added. Sometimes it's a case of not wanting to leave any guests out and feeling like you "have to" invite that family member you haven't seen in years.

Why not think outside the "wedding square" and realise that you can actually still have all the luxuries of a big wedding but on a much smaller scale. One important thing to keep in the forefront of your mind is that this is YOUR day and no one else's so its paramount you do what is best for you and your partner right? And the wonderful outcome of this is that it will mean less savings and maybe more money to go to towards your mortgage! Or perhaps that honeymoon you always dreamed about? Your wedding day is just one day in your life and wouldn't it be nice to not have to go into debt after this one day?!

Considering an intimate or small wedding or even an elopement is far more achievable for most people and takes away the stress and strain and time constraints involved with planning your wedding day.

That means you can get married sooner than you might have thought. Yay. Why keep putting it off when its not going to cost as much.

The most important thing to keep in mind when looking at getting married is that you and your partner are committing your lives together, and if that means not having all the family and extra bunch of friends to be a part of your day then it's not the end of the world. They will all understand.

Just remember to do what means the most to you as a couple - and remember what this day is all about -

getting married - and not breaking the bank!
